Esteemed Colleagues and Esteemed Guests,

With great honor and excitement, I welcome you to the 32nd Annual Convention of the Community Pediatrics Society of the Philippines (CPSP), proudly co-sponsored by the National and the Rizal Chapter. As we gather on May 23, 2025, at Novotel Manila, Quezon City, we unite our voices, knowledge, and commitment to a singular cause: the health and well-being of our children.

In proud memory of our beloved founder, the late National Scientist Dr. Fe del Mundo, we continue her legacy of unwavering dedication to child health care and advocacy. Our theme for this year, "The AMSR of Community Pediatrics: Active Social Measures in Response to Child Health Care Today," resonates deeply with the pressing issues that affect local communities and the children we serve.

The significance of our theme cannot be overstated. As we explore community physicians’ integrative and collaborative roles, we embrace a comprehensive approach from preconception to adolescent transition care. The challenges we face in addressing child health are complex and multifaceted, requiring clinical expertise and a commitment to Active Societies, Active Environments, Active People, and Active Systems—a framework anchored in the World Health Organization's Global Action Plan for Physical Activity.

Together with the strong force of the CPSP Chapter headed by Dr. Luzviminda Cabawatan and the Overall Organizing Chair of this 32nd Annual Convention, Dr. Joyce Eguia, together with the other organizing members and the support of the National Board officers and advisers, with Dr. Martini Ventura as the Immediate Past President, we anticipate an enriching experience with delegates—including pediatricians, family physicians, general practitioners, nurses, and midwives. Our participation emphasizes the collective strength of our community, and your invaluable insights will help shape the future of child healthcare in the Philippines.

Our vision is clear: to be recognized as the integrator of child healthcare within our communities. Our 4Ps guide us:

1. Committed and Competent Health Practitioners: We strive to continuously enhance our skills and knowledge, ensuring we deliver the highest quality of care.

2. Effective and Efficient Policies: We advocate for policies that promote child health and well-being at all levels.

3. Strong Partnerships: Collaboration with government agencies, non-government organizations, and community stakeholders is essential to our mission.

4. Advocacy Programs: We aim to unlock every child’s potential through programs that focus on their holistic development.

Embracing the values of Integrity, Commitment, Passion for Excellence, Service Orientation, and Professionalism, we solidify our commitment to our profession and the communities we serve.

Let us take this opportunity to share experiences, learn from our diverse backgrounds, and forge lasting connections that enable us to implement effective strategies to improve child health in our communities.

Together, as champions of every child's health and happiness, we will navigate the complexities of child healthcare, inspiring change and promoting a vibrant future for our children.

Thank you for your presence, dedication, and passion. Let us make this convention a resounding success!

Warm regards,

It is with great delight that we, the members of the Community Pediatrics Society of the Philippines - Rizal Chapter, are inviting you to the 32nd CPSP Annual Convention on May 23, 2025 at the Novotel Manila, Araneta City in Quezon City. We are very proud to bring you interesting topics that will highlight lectures from perinatology, mental wellness, global child health, and adolescent care from various brilliant speakers in our specialty.  I’m sure we will all learn a lot from these.

Maraming salamat po!

Luzviminda P. Cabawatan, MD, FPPS

President, CPSP – Rizal Chapter

Warm and bright greetings from the progressive province of Rizal, fellow doctors and to our allied medical team.

The Community Pediatrics Society of the Philippines delegates the hosting of the 32nd annual convention to Rizal Chapter. Happening at the Novotel Manila, Araneta City on May 23, 2025, this is the fourth time Rizal Chapter is designing a cutting edge, out-of-the-box national scientific activity that emphasizes the imperative collaboration of community doctors, nurses, and midwives to uphold every child’s health and happiness.

This year's theme, the A.S.M.R. of Community Pediatrics: Active Social Measures in Response to Child Health Care Today, derives its relevance from our comprehensive scientific program. Top notched speakers prepared high yield, evidence-based, lectures to highlight the integration of multidisciplinary medical advances for today's pressing pediatric issues. The society’s new thrust program, Luntiang Laruan, is set to conclude the sessions. With the aim of promoting the benefits of the natural environment in improving child health outcomes, this is CPSP’s response to the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity.

The success of this national CME is through the valuable linkages set up by the hardworking members of the Organizing Committee with the speakers, sponsors, and delegates. Sincere gratitude to the commitment of everyone who believes in the core competencies set for this convention.

We continue to take pride in the untiring efforts of our chapter members in spearheading projects that create positive impact to our local communities. These are most worthy showcased annually, an innovation for this year’s convention. You will be inspired by the poster presentation of our 5 thrust programs and chapter-initiated activities.

Thank you for taking part in the 32nd CPSP Annual Convention. This sets the stage for the dynamic role of your Community Pediatrician in the global healthcare delivery today, enabling the creation of active environments, societies, systems, and active children.

Joyce C. Eguia, MD, FPPS

Over-all Chair, 32nd CPSP Annual Convention

Last May, 2024, the CPSP Rizal chapter was awarded as the most outstanding chapter of the year. We were also given the task to organize and host the 2025 annual convention.

Under the leadership of Dr. Joyce Eguia, our competent and passionate convention chair; with the able guidance of our chapter president, Dr. Luzviminda Cabawatan; and with the cooperation and support of our members; the 32nd CPSP Annual Convention was developed with the theme “The ASMR of Community Pediatrics: Active Social Measures in Response to Child Healthcare Today”. Inspired by the core values and the thrust programs of the Community Pediatrics Society of the Philippines, our convention aims to present the active social measures needed to address the challenges of child healthcare in our communities.

We prepared a scientific program that includes not only the current physical concerns, but also the social issues, mental health and spiritual growth of the Filipino child from the perinatal period till adolescence and through his transition to adulthood.

We are hoping that the convention will benefit not only the pediatricians but also our allied medical professionals and most especially the Filipino child.
